Planète Enfants & Développement - Lyon
Planète Enfants & Développement (PE&D) is an international NGO founded in 1984 to support orphans of the Cambodian genocide. Today, it works alongside the most vulnerable children from birth, co-building with their families and local stakeholders a protective, educational, and inclusive environment that ensures their development and future citizenship.
Active in eight countries — Burkina Faso, Togo, Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, Vietnam, India, and France — PE&D operates through five main areas of action:
- Early childhood development (stimulation and education)
- Family support
- Maternal and child health
- Protection against violence towards women and children
- Socio-professional integration
The “Chemins d’Enfances” Program in France
In France, the Chemins d’Enfances program targets families facing extreme poverty, living in emergency shelters or informal housing. PE&D teams visit these living spaces to offer playful and educational workshops that foster children’s development and strengthen the parent-child bond.
The Project Supported by the bioMérieux Endowment Fund for Education
The Endowment Fund supports the Chemins d’Enfances program, which works with families living in precarious conditions — either in emergency shelters or informal housing. Its teams go directly to the families’ living environments to run educational workshops for children and parents alike.
