Roots Institute Centre - Kenya

The Roots Institute Centre is in the Mathare slum in eastern Nairobi, Kenya, home to over 850,000 people. With an average income of well under €2 a day, many struggle to meet their children's basic food requirements.

In 2023, the bioMérieux Endowment Fund and Roots Institute Centre developed the "Learning with Dignity" project to provide free education (nursery and primary), nutritious meals and a safe environment for Mathare's vulnerable children.
